Are there any plans to do another production run of the 9F

7 months down the line and no reply, I assume that means Dapol have no intention of producing any more 9F's, was it that bad a seller?

Perhaps Farish or even the new n-gauge manufacturer Hattons will take up the challenge for a much needed 9F as has been suggested elsewhere

Hello Sorry for the lack of reply. We do intend to manufacture more 9F's and in keeping with Dapol policy will look to make some improvements where practically possible. However, this also has to fit in with the financial constraints and cash flows of the business and decisions as to how many and when cannot be made on the hoof. but organised in to our business plan. I would estimate that we will release some more 9F's towards the end of 2021. Perhaps we can have some suggestions on which models we should make?

I would certainly want another one, maybe two. Any of the locos numbered that would have been allocated to the GC and/or Midland Line. My suggestion from 3+years back of a Crosti-Boiler version would be welcome if viable.

Thanks for your query, we have made no changes to the design here so the chassis will be the same as previous releases.

Joel Dapol I am not sure how far down the line this new batch of BR Std 9Fs is, but do you think it's possible to update the connecting rods to stainless steel or any stronger metal? A few years ago I bought a Dapol Std 7 and within mins of running it started to bind and the connecting rods kept bending. There is slack in the mechanism, but if it's assembly slightly off it wants to self destruct.

I am assuming that the connecting rods are etched. If so a change is material should be rather easy?

These are being advertised on various sites for advance orders, but with photos of previous versions. I can't find them at the Dapol Shop site.

Yes 92051 has been specified with a BR1C tender and single chimney (18A Shedplate)
