I found that the front bogie of my 28xx was very stiff and the loco derailed on my curve which is not at all sharp it's 6 ft ,so I took the bogie of and just put a drill in the pivot hole and turned it by hand a few times this improved the situation but the bogie still derailed on a few bits of line that dipped at bad rail joints on baseboard joints ,( my layout is very old built in 1981 ) I cured this by just a slight chamfer on the rear of the top of the bogie .The loco now runs perfectly and pulls a nice long freight train .
I hope this helps some one else with the same problem.
