A little behind schedule I am afraid, we are waiting for decorated samples so another 3-4 months I fear. My apologies for the delay.

Just seen the Facebook posting on the Hattons page showing the livery artwork for the Mk3 Sleepers. They all look pretty good except the INTERCITY example, which has a lot of problems. Is this a work in progress still?
If you require any assistance with the artwork, please let me know. I have good quality vector artwork available for the Mk3 Sleepers as part of my Electra Rail range and will happily provide any help to make sure the RTR version is as good as possible.

I also echo your thoughts Adam.
As you can see from my quick comparison photo below this shows up 2 issues. Top executive light grey band should continue across the top of the door and wrap round ever so slightly also the red band is to thick.
Come on Dapol, please get these right. I have been longing for a proper WCML sleeper rake for so long and after your announcement a few moons ago, I have been chomping at the bit for these!
A quick note on livery, as this is also a slight worry for me since your previous releases of IC Exec and Swallow liverys. This could be of use to yourselves in the paint shop. If you require anymore help on liverys, then please feel free to give me a shout.
Cheers
Anthony

Hi Joel, Andy now you have confirmed liveries for the MK 3 sleepers Do you have any plans of doing some loco hauled MK3’s in GWR Green and First group Blue to go with them. I believe 2 x TS and a buffet car are used with 4 or 5 sleepers. Do you also have any plans to do the EWS Management Train which has a sleeper TS and Buffet car.

I would also be very keen to get the loco hauled mk3 ‘day’ coaches for the Night Riviera in FGW blue/purple and GWR green.
Certainly in the FGW livery, they have a unique ‘night riviera’ moniker in the centre of the loco hauled mk3 ‘day’ coaches, which makes the livery slightly different to the standard FGW livery on the HST TS and buffet coaches.
The ‘day’ coaches used to be used on summer Saturdays in the past, which offers further modelling possibilities....

Getting excited about the mk3 sleeper especially after the announcement of the Kms railtech exclusives.
I did have one question for the Dapol team:
2P-006-002 is listed as "BR Executive"
A number of retailers have this listed on preorder but show the Swallow livery artwork.
Is this model/code intended to be Executive or Swallow?
(Executive being "intercity sleeper" Vs Swallow "INTERCITY")

Any news on which version is being produced and do you know when these will become available?

Hi Joel
See the MK3 sleeper is due to arrive soon, are you able to show any pictures of the finished product?
Thanks

I'm in awe. Having produced multiple models in Swallow livery, including regular MK3 coaches, how on earth did Dapol suddenly get the logo typeface wrong?
This certainly isn't the first time a typeface has been incorrect but you've got it right on all the other Swallow MK3s over the last 11+ years.
I want to be supportive, especially as a manufacturer putting effort into Britsh N gauge, but dear god, please hire someone competent in creating and signing off artwork. All you're doing is costing yourself sales and creating a bad reputation.1 PhotoLast edited by macnabs; 6 October 2021, 22:08.

No orange cantrail lines?? I know the photo I uploaded back in February 2020 showed a close up photo without, but this is basically because they had faded away. All IC Mk3 sleepers in the swallow era had orange cantrails. Also note that the silver italic Sleeper lettering should be at all 4 ends not just 2 as per the Rails photo.
I currently have 12 of these on order, but I feel a lot of adjustments with the airbrush will be required... Also I agree with macnabs comment above regarding the IC typeface.
Cheers

I like the surprised response to all of this. "Wow" - as if all of this is unexpected? The glaring mistake that I pointed out was simply glossed over.
"I would ask you check on the web and find the exact coach. We have a picture of 10701 and you will find it with Sleeper at one end and no Cantrail." (And indeed shows orange CDLs and correct INTERCITY typeface, but don't let that get in the way!). The photos I can easily find of 10701 show a rather atypical coach long after service... not a great basis for a model.
You've got a number of keen and knowledgable customers who are offering assistance yet it all seems to fall on deaf ears. You should be getting it right anyway but appear too proud to ask for help and admit mistakes when it's sorely needed. In the hands of the right person with a good eye for detail, it would take no time at all.Last edited by macnabs; 7 October 2021, 17:21.

Hi Joel,
You made the following comment
"Wow these coaches seem to have caused some irritation.
I would ask you check on the web and find the exact coach. We have a picture of 10701 and you will find it with Sleeper at one end and no Cantrail.
Cheers
Joel"
I have done a search on the web for 10701 and the picture that returns, is one of it at Long Marston stored (with a class 86 in orange in the picture) Is this the picture you have used for reference?
Thanks
