I agree, a bit confusing. I assume Neil Dapol is incharge of the Class 86s production currently. I hope Neil can atleast share the images that he's referring to for the research of the models. Hopefully then we'll know the exact variants.

Hi Dapol,
Will the 86216 Meteor in BR Blue have the same body version as the C&M Models BR Blue versions? ie without TDM cables and without headlight?
Thanks in advance

No problem..
In recent years the 86/4 have had the multiple working jumper cables removed leaving them looking like the 86/2...

For our purposes the 86/4 had multiple working jumper cables on the front ends as well as the TDM cables for push/pull working (these are on the Dapol model).
They also had different wheels.

I'm waiting for my preferred retailer to list them to pre-order! Likewise I hope to see some progress on the OHE.

Hi Dapol,
Another vote here to reconsider 86213 as a different running number to prevent previous duplication.
I'm a big fan of 86224 with its slightly larger numbers and red bufferbeam.

Just a thought with numbering of production is it worth providing a ghost new number for existing and older models it would allow comparisons and prevent duplication of painted numbers and make a product database for traders easier with the likes of Hattons still showing dead numbers on Mk3 coaches that appeared in the new mutlicscale register.

Hi good choice bar 213 I am sure easy to change at this stage. Hopefully this will see some work on overheads as well. Ordered via Kernow for a change

We will check this out, we never intended to duplicate.
