I would get the original version IF Dapol did it with the original names i.e. Yeoman Enterprise, etc and NOT with Kenneth J Painter as that was renamed in about 1991. Dapol really ought to model these from the date of introduction in 1986. I dont want to have to buy a set of plates to rename it.

Hi,
Yes, we are waiting for the corrected/adjusted samples to arrive for approval. Regarding the 'N' gauge version, this would be an all new model with similar features to the class 68 and class 50.Regards

Would the Class 59 also be designed in such a way where the Class 66 can benefit from an upgrade? Basically the chassis is what I am talking about.
-
A bit early to say really, but I would imagine it is possible.
-
Well atleast I am early with that suggestion. Please do consider it Joel Dapol . If you'll design the Class 59's "Next Generation" chassis such that the body of your current Class 66 can fit on it, then you automatically get a higher spec Class 66.
Just to put things in persepective, I run my Class 68 almost everyday, simply becuase I am awestruck by how smooth and silent it is. Honestly never seen a model so good.

Evening all, I was just wondering if there was any chance of having an update on the class 59...

As they said last time, the N gauge Class 59 would follow after the OO gauge Class 59 (which is still at the livery sample stage). So there's a long way to go I'm afraid. Atleast a year away for the N gauge version.

Hi,
No movement on the N gauge version yet. It is still scheduled to commence development ASAP after the OO version is produced, so I would anticipate seeing some CADs next year. We will issue anticipated dates once we have started the project.

Hi all.
Very keen for this model and was wondering if Andy or Neil from Dapol can update us on whats happening.
I know the OO model must be close to production, would really like to know ref the N gauge version.
Also, have the liveries been confirmed as yet.
Thanks

All the development work is done now and we await a production slot. I would say release would be in the next 6 months.
-
Joel Dapol any chance we can see some updated painted samples?

Hi,
@ Joel Dapol I find the news from Revolution Trains most disturbing:
http://www.revolutiontrains.com/emd-...om-revolution/
Have you been able to assess the implications regarding viability of two Class 59 manufacturers in N?
Whilst there are questionable 'comparisons' already being propounded, I'd rather not "jump ship" unless you consider Dapol could be forced to withdraw your much anticipated N version.
Regards, Gerry.

Hello Gerry, yes a bit unfortunate but we are already committed and have numerous special commissions already on order. We are expecting the first shots in a couple of months, so no turning back. I am sure the RT model will be good, but equally I am confident ours will also pass muster and I guess customers can make their own mind up. Not great financially for either of us I fear :-(

No problem Gerry, no we are definitely committed to this project.

HI @Ian3721,
Other than that the project is continuing and is due for release after the OO version there is little to report. We produced the fully working EP sometime ago and are working on decorated samples at this time. Once we receive these, we will show photos and announce this via the media as usual. I'm sorry I don't have news of further progress as we have many projects in all scales and are finding that definite schedules for all of these are subject to current working conditions in China, as well as the global shipping difficulties.
