Gaugemaster have announced today that they'll be adding the Dapol HST to their Gaugemaster Collection range.

More details in the link below:-
    https://www.gaugemasterretail.com/ma...e/view/id/151/

There's 3 train packs and additional coaches to go along. A GWR set, a GWR Celebrity BR Blue/IC set and an NMT set.

    Cheers!

Also note that these are to have brand new motors in them. Is it something similar to the Class 68?

With the announcement of the HSTs for the Gaugemaster Collection, does this mean there'll be another run of HSTs from Dapol this year? If so, are you'll taking suggestions? I have a few.

Are these going into production at the same time as the Prototype HST? Also if suggestions are open virgin trains 43000 'craigentinny' and 43238 'national railway museum' would be good due to the popularity of the VTEC bookset, scotrail inter 7 cities and cross country would be popular I'm sure. Maybe even EMR branded ex-east midland trains?

The potential of a new HST run is being evaluated at the moment. You are all more than welcome to make suggestions which we will conciser, however we do have a short list of potential models that we might run in mind. Obviously the more information that you can provide the more enticing the suggestion might be.... good quality photographs of the power cars and coaches, running numbers of the coaches etc.

I got exited when I saw the NMT, but this is just another botch job delivering only two coaches. Has any thought been given to those people who originally bought the NMT Power Cars from Dapol?

The advertised product is as the customer has requested it. Dapol do not have the necessary tooling to make all of the coach types required to make the full train. New tooling was considered but it was deemed to be too costly to make it a financially viable option.

Neil - would you consider another run in Crosscountry livery? Those are one of the few which will remain in use for a few years yet. The Gaugemaster mention of printing to represent the sliding doors is interesting, and could possibly be used here too? Also, it might allow the Scotrail livery (these two and the GWR green are the only liveries intended to be in use after the end of this year as things stand).

I see that the Gaugemaster list states that the coaches with the power cars in blue/yellow and Swallow liveries will also have printed representations of sliding doors. Is this as intended? Because if so it's wrong - those two power cars never received the modifications to work with the sliding door stock, so the correct Mk3s are GWR green or FGW blue slam-door stock.

So far as I recall only one power car ever carried that Cotswold Rail livery (they also had the one in Hornby livery). The coaches were not repainted.

That 'new' EMT livery only appeared on the three sets transferred from Grand Central. It's now been more or less removed from the power cars (they are plain blue).

Will the announced set in ex-Virgin/LNER red with EMR branding have coaches to go with it? The real ones are having EMR branding applied to the coaches as well as the power cars (Virgin and LNER only had branding on the power cars). Thanks

I assume it's a bit late for suggestions for the next run, however, I'd like to see another run of GNER power cars. There seem to be plenty of MK3 coaches about and not enough power cars to go with them. I'd pick up 2 sets if they were available (and had the power car numbers in the correct typeface this time!)

Gotta agree with that, couldn't find GNER power cars anywhere online.
